Yannis Karpouzis is a Greek based artist working with Photography, Film and Video. He has studied to the Technical university of Athens (Diploma), Copenhagen’s DTU (Erasmus), Architecture school of Athens (Master of Science) and the Fine Art School of Athens (Master of Arts). He has been awarded the Newcomer film-maker award (Greek Film Center), the Descubrimientos prize in PHotoEspana 2015 and the Portfolio Review Prize in Athens Photo Festival 2016. Parallel Crisis and other works has been presented to major Greek and international institutions (New museum of New York – Benaki Museum, Rencontres d’Arles, Contemporary art museum of Thessaloniki, Noorderlicht Photo Festival, PHotoEspana, Magnum agency, MedPhoto festival, Photo-Beijing). After 8 years he finished a hybrid genre essay film called Nikos Karouzos: poems on the tape recorder. His continuing project has to do with Østerport Hotel ,an unfinished sci-fi film of the Danish avant guard film-maker, Walter Markersen.

Andreas Vakalios was born in Budapest where he spent half of his life’s summers. He shot his first film, a Star Wars parody, at 12. He studied Digital Arts (MFA) at the Athens School of Fine Arts. He is a Talents Sarajevo alumnus. In 2020 he received the Stavros Niarchos Foundation Artist Fellowship Award. He has participated in over 45 international film festivals as a director, he was selected at the Brussels Short Film Festival Oscars® Qualifying, receiving rave reviews and 7 awards, including that of Best Short Greek Film by the Greek Film Critics’ Society for ‘‘Mila‘‘. ‘‘Nikos Karouzos – Poems on the Tape Recorder’’, for which he co-wrote the screenplay, was awarded at the 22nd Thessaloniki Documentary Festival. He works in Athens as a screenwriter and a director.

Lina Samoili is a London-based film professional currently working as Film Festivals & Distribution Coordinator for the award-winning Greek documentary Nikos Karouzos – Poems on the Tape Recorder. She has worked in large film festivals including BFI London Film Festival and Sheffield Doc/Fest. Also, she has been a Short Film Preselector & Student Competition Programmer at the Encounters Short Film & Animation Festival since 2016. In the past, she worked in TV publicity for large-scale projects, such as Fleabag, and as a Film Writer for online outlets such as DMovies and Sounds and Colours. She holds an MA degree in Film Studies (University of Bristol) and she has completed a Professional Film Programmer Training (supported by Creative Skillset) and an Art History Course (Bristol School of Art).
